Marketing can be a stressful job. Staying active is important for both your mental and physical well-being. While most gyms and public parks are closed right now, there are still many things you can do from the comfort of your own home to stay in shape.
Push-Ups
“Traditional pushups are beneficial for building upper body strength. They work the triceps, pectoral muscles, and shoulders. When done with proper form, they can also strengthen the lower back and core by engaging (pulling in) the abdominal muscles. Pushups are a fast and effective exercise for building strength.” Carving out a couple of minutes every few hours to do as many push-ups as you can is easy to do and can get you in shape over the course of time.
Wall Squats
“Wall squats strengthen weak muscles while doing a great job of helping to increase flexibility. They are an excellent leg-strengthening exercise that works to make the quadriceps muscles stronger—one of the biggest muscles in your body.” It’s important to keep the blood flowing in your lower extremities, and wall squats will do just that, without the need for equipment.
Crunches
“Abdominal crunches are designed to tone the core muscles of the body. The exercise aids in strengthening the core muscles, improving the posture, and increasing the mobility and flexibility of the muscles. When these exercises are performed, the rectus abdominus and the oblique muscles are tightened.” Abs are a trouble area for many of us, but combining crunches with a healthy diet can help you get that long desired six-pack.
Yoga
“Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and cardio-respiratory fitness.” Yoga provides many benefits, both physically and mentally. Almost anyone can do beginner’s yoga and progress as they become more fit.
Circuit Training
“If you’re looking for a full-body workout in 30 minutes or less, circuit training does the trick. You get the benefits of muscle building and toning along with an intense cardio workout. Circuit training is an excellent option to help you lose weight along with a healthy diet.” Circuit training can be done with little more than a 10-25lb plate and is a great way to combine strength training and aerobic exercise.
