blog-489504_1920Did you know that more than 2 million blogs are written every day? With that much content being written and regurgitated, it’s hard to know where to start when it comes to writing original content of your own. Whether you are just starting out your business blog, or looking for a way to make it better and more cohesive, here is a brief how to for blogging with the purpose of content marketing.

Be Yourself

Having a great online personality is the key to success when it comes to content marketing. Make sure the personality you’re presenting is indicative of the real you and your brand. You should write about your experiences and share your knowledge genuinely with the people who follow you.

Be Insightful

Having insight when you’re writing blogs can be helpful in many ways! You should be insightful when it comes to who you’re writing content for, and what that person will want to read. Are you targeting a specific demographic with a specific need for your product, write to reach of them and connect with them.

Stand Out

If you don’t want your content getting lost in the vast sea of content that is already out there, your blog has to stand out. Don’t use your competitors as a model for what you should be doing. Pave your own way and attract attention by being different and standing out from the crowd.

Be Brief

With so much content swirling around the internet, its important to make sure that yours is easily digestible so keep it brief. When creating a blog article, it is best to keep your paragraphs short. An ideal length would be no more than six lines each. Large blocks of text can be intimidating and uninviting to the casual reader. Being concise and getting straight to the point will condense your writing without sacrificing value.

Insight Motion

When writing a blog, you should make your readers want to take action. Encourage them to make a change, take steps towards goals, fix something that isn’t working, go somewhere, or even purchase something new. Providing guidance that moves and inspires will quickly make you an authority in your subject matter and your followers will trust you more and more.

Use Graphics

Visuals help to draw in the reader and if used correctly can complement your written text. Graphics can help to communicate complex ideas and statistics in a more understandable way. Statistics show that “articles with images get 94% more total views”, so not only will images improve readability, they can draw in more readers.

While this is a small niche, it shows that everyone has a different preference when it comes to content consumption. Rather than jumping on trends and utilizing only one type of media, as many have done with video, its best to keep your blog diverse.
