How To Stay Stress Free At Marketing EventsAttending and presenting at events can be stressful, tiring and expensive. They can also be very profitable from both a monetary and networking perspective. Making sure you are your best self throughout the length of the event will have a tremendous impact on the level of return you get from it. Here are a few tips to remain stress free at marketing events.

Cushion Your Travel Plans

When traveling for an event, you want to leave plenty of time after your arrival to check in to hotels, grab a bite to eat and maybe even a quick nap. Events are an investment and you need to be on your game both mentally and physically to maximize your return. The same goes for departure. You don’t want to be stressing about catching a flight while you’re presenting to prospective clients.

Show Up Early

If you’re going to be presenting at an event you’ll need ample time to set up your booth and prepare your marketing materials. This also gives you an opportunity to chat with organizers and other companies that are setting up. Every chance you have to network with potential partners and clients is valuable.

Plan And Prepare

The more you plan, the better prepared you’ll be. The better prepared you are, the less you are likely to feel rushed and stressed out. Have a clear plan for everything from booth design, giveaways, contests, targeted prospects and anything else involved in your particular event.  While it is impossible to plan for everything, and the unexpected does happen, being well prepared will allow you the time and capacity to fix whatever comes at you.

Eat Healthy And Stay Hydrated

Some events can be a marathon, lasting longer than your typical work day. There is a lot of walking, talking and standing. Eating healthy and drinking plenty of water will help you to have the same energy at the beginning of the event as you do at the end. Often times the after parties are the best time to network. You want to ensure you have enough left in the tank to make a good impression.

Take Mental And Physical Breaks

Taking short breaks throughout the event is important to keep your mind and body sharp. Make sure you have enough people attending with you so that you can rotate the personnel at your booth, allowing for everyone to take a few breaks. It can be extremely difficult to maintain your focus and a positive attitude if your back and feet hurt and you haven’t stopped talking for six hours.
